Daddy Daughter Dance

One of Bekah's biggest concerns the night that Larry was diagnosed with cancer was that her dad would not be there for the Daddy-Daughter dance that her dance team had been planning. The dance was originally scheduled for later in the school year. Her very kind and thoughtful dance instructor arranged for the dance to happen as soon as she could get it on the schedule.

When the announcer announced the dance they dedicated the song to our family. This announcement caught me completely off guard or I would have recorded it as it was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes.

The week before this dance Bekah was voted in as 1st attendant at the homecoming football game. Sadly, Bekah missed this presentation as our family was in Yellowstone spending the weekend together. They ask Bekah to wear her crown for this night as she had missed wearing it the weekend before. She looked beautiful.

Bekah was a little frustrated with the mistakes that were made in the dance, but they only had one official practice and they made some changes right before the dance. I think we both came to the conclusion that this dance wasn't about perfection, but rather about creating a special memory with her dad.
